Our friends at Broadgate Financial Solutions have recently completed a mammoth task, in order to raise funds and support a very worthy cause – Kids on the Green.
Mike, Mick and Ian from BFS, have just completed a gruelling walk from Easingwold to Edquelbecq in France, in memory of a Stockton-On-Tees soldier George Hunter. George’s story is certainly heart-braking, as during WW1, confronted by the horrors of war, he deserted his post and ran home. He was captured and sadly sentenced to death in July 1916 even though it was acknowledged that he was suffering from a mental illness. Today it would be referred to as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
As PTSD is still very much present in today’s society, Mike and his team have decided to partner with the North Kensington Firefighters, who will be running the London Marathon in April. The firefighters were the first on the scene of the Grenfell Tower fire and are running to raise funds for ‘Kids on the Green’, a charity that funds PTSD counselling for the children and families that suffered immensely as a result of that dreadful event.
Our team are proud to be supporting this very worthy cause and have made a donation on behalf of BFS to Kids on the Green. We congratulate Mike and his team for completing their walk, and send our well wishes to the North Kensington Firefighters for their run in April.
