Freers first annual Inkwell Golf Tournament got off to a successful start on Friday 23rd August. A sunny start to the afternoon allowed just enough time for all 20 players to get round the course before the thunderstorm struck. Property owner Johnny Featham arranged his international schedule to secure his availability for the Inkwell.

Competitor, Mr. Alan Lowther, commented afterwards, “The day went well, most enjoyable, planned to finish just before the storm broke!! I expected the scoring to be higher especially off the yellow tees – Brass won again!”

First to get his name on the trophy was Mr. Mike Hamilton with a score of 37 points on his home course. Fellow member, Mr. Cambell Swan, pushed him to a close second with 36 points and Mr Denis Murray , already in the prizes for nearest the pin, came in third with 35 points. Phil Vaux took the crystal for the longest drive on the 17th.

Partners, Richard Vaux and Jonathan Woodhouse, and Consultant Keith Vaux were amongst the field of competitors but provided no real competition for the clients who took all the awards. Rachel Dyson added a bit of glamour to evening as guest of honour for the prize giving. Adam Hodge turned up for the food.
